BELVEDERE 63

This is an old hillside house from the 1930s. Our challenge here was to add a primary bedroom, bath and deck above the existing playroom while maintaining the 1930’s aesthetic, simultaneously gutting and opening up the interior for a more engaged connection to the garden.

We re-arranged the interior spaces to create a better spatial flow between interior and exterior, and between the interior spaces. We maintained the aesthetic of the steep sloping roofs and used shed dormers to create accessible space within the roof volume.
