This Belvedere Lagoon home is oriented toward the water, creating opportunities for gathering inside the house and outside along the water’s edge. The floor plan and spaces of the house are designed to maximize the interaction between interior and exterior, and to create a flexible, permeable edge between the two.
A view to the interior through the large glass partition. The combination of concrete, steel, and painted wood siding creates a material and visual palette that is modern and clean yet also grounded along the edge of the water.
The interior space borrows light from the sides through large cross-sectional windows while the house spatially opens to the rear toward the lagoon. This combination of light and space, of primary and secondary cross axes, produces a home that is spatially dynamic, creating multiple opportunities to enjoy changing light, nature, and gathering.
